High Temperature Corrosion
and Corrosion Protection Laboratory

Overview:

The high temperature corrosion and corrosion protection laboratory at Montana State University supports fundamental and applied research into various materials and their behaviors in extreme environments.  Current projects include: development of protective coatings on planar solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) metallic interconnects; investigating corrosion mechanisms of ceramic matrix composite materials in combustion environments; and, testing materials in poly-crystalline silicon production environments.

Prof. Emertitus Max Deibert, Asst. Prof. Paul Gannon and Preston White supervise laboratory operations and student research. Currently (Summer 2011) the laboratory group is comprised of a post-doctoral research scientist, Dr. Roberta Amendola, an M.S. Candidate, Vanessa Murray, and 2 undergraduate researchers, Michael McCambridge and Jude Eziashi. Numerous alumni and their current affiliations are listed in Our People page.  The laboratory is physically located at 329/325 Cobleigh Hall in MSU's Chemical Engineering Department.
