On-Line Pre-Application for Admission to ChBE Graduate Program

The Department's "Pre-Application" process has changed again to simplify the process for both the applicants and the department faculty. Now, only very limited data is requested on the pre-application form to minimize the work required to complete the form. Once submitted, the data is available to department faculty for six months. The data will only be reviewed by faculty members who are actively seeking new graduate students. If a faculty member wants additional information about an applicant, the faculty member will contact the student directly using the email address specified on the pre-application.

Note: All pre-applications submitted before 7/21/2004 have automatically been included in the new database.

Applicants should be aware of the following:

  1. With the new pre-application process you will not be contacted by the Department unless a faculty member is considering recommending you for admission.
  2. If you do not meet the minimum requirements for admission, there is no point in applying.
  3. There is no point in contacting the Department to determine the "status" of your pre-application because there is no status associated with a pre-application. Your submitted data will remain on file for six months. If you wish to be considered for an additional six months, simply submit a new pre-application.
  4. The pre-application is all that is required to be considered for admission. There is no benefit to the applicant to submit an unsolicited application. You should not submit a complete application (or the required fee) until after you have been contacted by a member of the Department's faculty.
  5. Applicants will be asked to submit a complete application before a final decision is made on admission.
